Canning & Preservation w/ Katie Platten
Learn how to preserve your garden’s summer bounty! Katie Platten will teach you the basics of home canning – imagine enjoying those beautiful garden tomatoes this winter! This class will feature safe water bath canning for salsa and pickles, the same technique you can use for fruits, applesauce, tomatoes and other high-acid foods. We will also demo pressure canning techniques for low-acid foods like green beans, carrots, and even meat. Participants will take home samples, canning utensils, and recipes for successful canning.
